DESCRIPTION

The Faculty of Law at the University of Shkodra "Luigj Gurakuqi" is pleased to invite you to participate in the International Conference on:  “The process of harmonization of Albanian law with the EU and the experiences of other countries. Theoretical and practical issues"

 

The Conference is organized jointly with the Department of Legal Sciences and the School of Law of the University of Florence.

 

 

OBJECTIVE

The conference aims to serve as a forum where law researchers have the opportunity to exchange opinions regarding different legal issues that accompany the process of harmonization of Albanian law with the EU legal framework and propose possible changes or improvements.

 

The conference will also promote the scientific debate related to this process, by stressing the necessity of a comparative approach looking at EU member states and other countries of the region.

 

 

MAIN TOPICS

The conference welcomes scientific papers on the following topics:

1. Elections, political parties, and international monitoring institutions.
2. Judicial power: reforms and perspectives.
3. Reforms in public administration, territorial reform, and local government.
4. Human rights and their judicial protection.
5. Digitalization, data protection, AI, right to information and media.
6. The principle of social equality as the basis of coexistence in the EU space.
7. Consumer and public health protection.
8. Environmental protection and sustainability policies.
9. Fundamental freedoms of the internal market face to restrictions challenging harmonization.
10. Economic and monetary policies of the EU from the perspective of national approximation and implementation.
11. Competition and tax legislation.
12. Education, scientific research and culture, influence, and implementation of obligations arising from integration in the EU.
13. The impact of European law on Albanian criminal law.
14. Criminal judicial process in the reformed legal framework.
15. Current trends in private law.
16. Social dialogue, employee rights, trade union freedom and social protection.
17. Commercial relations in cyberspace.

 

 

PRESENTATION OF PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE

The conference will take place on a single day and will be organized on several panels. In co- authored papers, at least one of the authors of the works must be present in person at the presentation of the paper.

 

The languages of the conference are Albanian, English, Italian.

 

Abstracts must be submitted within the deadline provided in this call and in accordance with the guidelines published on the official website of the conference:
