Zamira Shabani e diplomuar në Fakultetin e Mjekësisë, Tiranë dhe e specializuar si Mjek Familje, është pedagoge në Departamentin e Lëndëve Klinike, Fakulteti Shkencave të Natyrës, Universiteti i Shkodrës “Luigj Gurakuqi” që prej vitit 2002. Ka mbajtur postin e Drejtorit të Departamentit të Infermierisë për një vit. Është anëtare e bordit të revistave shkencore dhe eksperte e jashtme e ASCAL.

Ajo ka eksperiencë në mësimdhënie dhe kërkim shkencor në fushën e Mjekësisë dhe është titullare në lëndët: Sëmundje të Brëndshme, Toksikologji, Metodologji e Kërkimit Shkencor dhe Epidemiologji. Është pedagoge e jashtme në Universitetin e Mjekësisë Tiranë. Ka marrë pjesë në projekte shkencore, konferenca dhe publikime kombëtare e ndërkombëtare mjekësore.

Ajo është specialiste në shëndet publik, epidemiologji, sëmundje të brendshme, edukim mjekësor dhe infermieror. Ajo është autore e teksteve universitare dhe botimeve shkencore në revista ndërkombëtare të indeksuara. Interesat e saj kërkimore përfshijnë problematikat e Mjekësisë, Shëndetit Publik dhe Edukimit Shëndetësor.
