The Departments, Research Institutes or Promoting Centers will send, included in the application itself, a justified evaluation of the teaching, research and internationalization suitability of each candidate they endorse.

Once the applications and evaluations of all the candidates submitted by the Departments, Research Institutes or Promoting Centers have been received, they will be evaluated by a Hiring Committee that will submit a proposal to the Academic Organization Committee.

The Hiring Committee will be made up of the persons responsible for the Vice-Rector's Offices with competence in matters of teaching staff and internationalization, one person representing each of the major areas of knowledge and one person designated by the Works Council.

For the evaluation of the applications, the following will be taken into account:

a) Teaching experience.

b) The research work carried out.

The Academic Organization Committee, after analyzing the proposal prepared by the Hiring Committee, will issue a mandatory and non-binding report. For the preparation of this report, particular consideration will be given to applications that promote the internationalization of the University and, in particular, those that serve as support for teaching in a foreign language, preferably English, within the Bilingualism Program or in international double degrees, bilingual degrees or degrees entirely taught in a foreign language.

The Governing Council of the University of Jaén, in view of the report issued by the Academic Planning Committee, will agree, if appropriate, on the hiring of Visiting Professors.
