Aim:
The aim of this programme is to focus on current trends in research in the fields of modern history, politics and culture and to reflect on the possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation. The goal is to enhance the research excellence of the participants through thematic lectures and methodological workshops. The programme includes a student conference where MA and PhD. students will present the partial results of their MA and PhD research. Through feedvback from international mentors, MA and PhD students will be able to improve their research skills and gain new insights into interdisciplinary research. The programme aims to promote awareness of the rich European diversity typical of the Central and Eastern European region, and the need to rethink traditional research disciplines with regard to the potential of digital technologies. Participants will be able to develop and enhance their digital skills. The programme will strengthen participants´ active citizenship and participation in democratic processes. The face-to-face programme will be preceded by a virtual part.
Number of ECTS Credits Awarded: 3 ECTS
Who can apply?
- Students at Masters level, as well as early and mid-stage PhD students, enrolled at network universities
- Excellent knowledge of English is a prerequisite
- Up to two students from each country can participate
Students' theses and dissertations should address the following topics
1) Memory and memory politics in contemporary Central Europe and the Balkans
2) Memory and Anthropological Perspectives
3) Cultural heritage and everyday memory in Central Europe and the Balkans
4) European Union and its future
5) Central and Southeastern Europe and their Modern and Contemporary History
6) Central and Southeastern Europe in the international relations of the 20th and 21st centuries
7) Cultural Transfer and Intercultural Relations

The costs of the international workshop will be covered by the Erasmus + BIP/CEEPUS scholarship. Refreshments during the programme and two receptions will be provided by Palacký University Olomouc.
Accommodation
All students and teachers will be accommodated in a student residence at Palacký University Olomouc. Accommodation will be booked and paid for by the participants themselves from their scholarship.
