About us

The University of Shkodra began its educational and scientific activities as a 2-year Pedagogical Institute on September 2, 1957. It was the first public higher education institution opened in northern Albania and gained university status with Decision No. 167 on May 28, 1991, by the Council of Ministers. The University offers qualified academic staff, various study programs that meet labor market demands, technologically equipped laboratories, and a rich scientific library enhanced with contemporary literature in Albanian and foreign languages. It also has a digital library.
